Is the Fulham fc wacko jacko statue a homage to Chintz?

A homage to rubbish,I could've done better myself without my glasses.However...really not trying to wind anyone up here but a question occurs - as Mr Al Fayed is a muslim,isn't erecting statues meant to be a no-no,I mean displaying images of people is forbidden in islam am I correct,the road to idolatry and all that?Or is he not that devout?He must have friends that are,wonder what they think.
