I was stupid and ordered a retainer online...?
So I had an appointment to get a retainer in about 2 weeks. Since I didn't want to wait that long I decided to use neonbrite (online retainer...company). I'm a Registered Dental Assistant so I was not worried about the impressions. I received the impression kit promptly. Took 3 good impressions and sent the most perfect one out. This is where it gets bad. On the paper it says it will take 10 business days (2 weeks) to RECEIVE the retainer. They didn't even ship it off until 3 weeks later (which is sad seeing I live 150 miles from the company). I originally placed my order May 6, and FINALLY got my order in today June 6. Also, this was no cheaper than my orthodontist. When I got my retainer in the mail it was dirty. It had white fingerprints all over it and I washed it with soap and water for a good 5 minutes to remove it. Before I put it in I saw how ugly the front looked. It didn't even look like teeth were meant to fit into the grooves. It was really pointy and the entire retainer was sloppy! So when I put it in my mouth I already knew the outcome...it didn't fit. So I called them and they said it was probably my impressions so I need to send this retainer back off to them so they can compare it to the marble and if it was indeed the impressions I'll need to start the process over. I think they chipped the marble somehow when they were making a model of my teeth from the impression, but I have a feeling I'll have to start over. :( I don't know what to do. I'm thinking about just sticking with my orthodontist and paying another $250...because this is ridiculous and I don't want my teeth to shift more. What do you think?
