Boy's name related to "Samuel"?

I need a boy's name that is somehow related to "Samuel". My dearest friend/brother-I-never-had is named Samuel and while I would like to pay homage to him, I don't want to use his EXACT name. The name could be somehow related to the meaning of the name "Samuel" or can be a derivative of the name, such as Samwell, which I have seen but don't necessarily like. If it helps, I am Irish and Christian so anything related to those cultures would also be a plus!
