Compressor pulley doesn't line up?

I just put a Sanden compressor on my Silverado which had a R4 compressor. The spacers they gave me with the Sanden have the compressor recessed too far back. With the belt in the proper location it hits the mounting bolts, so I just moved the belt up a grove(8 groove pulley, 6 groove belt). Is is ok to use the A/C until I have time to go to home depot and get the right amount of spacers? Belt is not squeaking or smoking, just off by 1 groove.
